Our Interiors company followed up winning Excellence in Outreach at the Inspiring Women in Construction awards for their social value work by winning the Best Community Project title at the Black Professionals in Construction awards

Just weeks after picking up the Excellence in Outreach title for upskilling and driving social mobility in Waltham Forest as part of the EMD Cinema refurbishment project, our Interiors team's work to improve life chances was again recognised, this time at the Black Professionals in Construction awards. This was for how the social value team are delivering a series of initiatives that bring opportunity to people who otherwise would not be given the chance.

During our time at the EMD Cinema, Interiors have:

  • provided three community projects via our trainee challenge, focused on improving local spaces, providing more green space, and encouraging people outdoors
  • hosted sessions to promote young people into construction with Project Zero
  • supported multiple work experience students
  • connected over 1000 local people to careers education events
