First free school for boarders, sponsored by world-famous Eton College

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Free school sponsored by world-famous Eton College
  • First free school to allow pupils to board
  • Demolition and refurbishment of existing school buildings, plus new build

We built the first ever free school for boarders, Holyport College, which was also sponsored by nearby Eton College.

Holyport College in Berkshire is an all-ability co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 11–19 years. When full, 225 of the 500 pupils will be boarders.

We built the college on the site of a former special needs school in Ascot Road in Holyport.

The scope of the project included construction of three new buildings, and the retention, refurbishment and demolition of existing structures.

Eton College takes a lead role on the governing body, with the school also able to use some of Eton's facilities, particularly for sport.
