Frank Towell Court

Providing 102 new quality homes in Feltham

We worked with the London Borough of Hounslow to deliver Frank Towell Court, a housing complex that created 102 new homes in the borough.

Frank Towell Court consists of two, nine storey residential towers, a four-storey block of flats and seven Mews houses. The mix of apartments, houses and maisonettes also includes landscaped gardens and public realm for residents to enjoy, along with wildlife areas, a park and new pathways.

Sustainability is at the heart of Frank Towell Court, with a range of energy saving and biodiversity initiatives utilised.

Photovoltaic panels are fitted to the roof of each building to generate renewable energy, while the build will embrace a landscaping design that incorporates rain gardens, providing a sustainable method of irrigation. Further biodiversity measures include the provision of bird, bat and hedgehog boxes, as well as a bee/bird bath.

Rich legacy

The first ever homes on the Frank Towell Court site were originally completed in June 1963 and 60 years later, as 102 new homes were added, councillors had the opportunity to meet with David Towell, the son of former Council Leader in the post-war period, Frank Towell, who the development was originally named after to mark his commitment to housebuilding.

Each property was designed and built with features to maximise energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, such as the use of photovoltaic panels and individual air source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water.

Councillor Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Development said:

“We have consistently shown that we have a fantastic track record of delivering high quality, genuinely affordable homes for our residents, despite the financial challenges facing the industry. Willmott Dixon have been a longstanding partner of the Council, and it’s great to see how partnerships and investment provide a positive boost to our communities and improve the lives of residents.”

Councillor Sue Sampson, Cabinet Member for Housing Management and Homelessness added:

“Last year, we pledged to ensure local people live in good quality homes and in thriving neighbourhoods. Frank Towell Court is the perfect example of how we can tackle the housing crisis and make much-needed improvements to our estates.
“It was fascinating to meet with David – the son of Frank Towell – to learn more about the history of the estate and his unwavering commitment to provide homes for people after the Second World War. It’s a privilege to continue that legacy by delivering investment into the estate. We want residents to feel connected to their communities and pride in their estates, which we know provide a number of health and wellbeing benefits for our residents.”
