Scholes Park Marauders football team has ‘scored’ after Willmott Dixon Partnerships have stepped in to donate £350 towards a new football kit.
The company’s donation, prompted by Willmott Dixon employee Lee Drydale, has enabled the club to buy new branded kit for its U8’s team and now the team can face its opposition in style.
Willmott Dixon is currently working with Yorkshire Coast Homes on a £3.2million contract to repair and maintain 4,500 homes in Scarborough and Whitby.
Team manager, Lee, who has also worked as a joiner at Willmott Dixon for the past five years and is the proud father of one of the team members, said, “The team is made up of a great group of boys. They are so dedicated to the game and they now feel as though they are truly part of a team thanks to their new kit. They really deserve it after all the hard work and commitment they have shown this season.”
Javen Cordukes, a player for the team, said, “We all love our new kit and got really excited when we were told it was on its way! Our kit now matches and we feel like a real team.”
Scholes Park Raiders Junior Football Club has over 150 players across age groups from six to 16 in the local minor league.
The club’s Chairman, Mark Castleton, said, “On behalf of the club I would like to thank Willmott Dixon for its kind donation for the under eight Marauders. Without the support of local business the players would not have this new sponsored kit and it is great to see the young players wear it with such pride. The boys will hopefully continue the season in style!”
