M&E Building Services Manager

We are looking to grow our building services team in the midlands and recruit a preconstruction focussed MEP Building Services Manager to provide expert technical support to the MEP design of a project and aid with technical changes throughout the procurement process.


You will work in a hybrid way from our offices in Birmingham or Nottingham, home and visit projects if required to support the wider project teams.


The key responsibilities are:



  • To ensure a robust net position and operational delivery of the MEP package on complex projects

  • Advise on the project procurement and profit strategy within the procurement period.

  • Recommend supply chain partners who best suited to the project.

  • Identify risk and provide mitigation options through procurement.

  • Manage the MEP supply chain and ensure they deliver to deadlines.

  • Engage with supply chain to gain quotes and understand risks.

  • Carry out tender gap analysis.

  • Provide MEP support to our projects when required.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

The ideal candidate:



  • Extensive MEP knowledge working for a contractor or supply chain partner.

  • Knowledge of a procurement process.

  • Holder of a full driving license.


Essential Criteria: 



  • Appropriate CSCS card

  • Valid driving licence

  • Appropriate managerial experience in the services sector

  • Understanding of all relevant M&E and services legislation

  • Commercial acumen

  • Proficient use of and Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook.

  • A variety of M&E projects in a wide range of sectors


Desirable Criteria



  • Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc)

  • Working towards MCIOB / CIBSE
