Willmott Dixon completes STEM space at Oxford Brookes University’s Headingly Hill campus
Will stimulate further collaboration and partnerships between university, students and private sector
Plans to develop the former Eastfield High School playing fields, vacant since 1995, will soon become a reality. Brenley Park LLP, a joint venture between Willmott Dixon Homes and Notting Hill Housing Group, have exchanged contracts with the Homes and Communities Agency to develop the seven acre site in partnership together.
The £26 million scheme situated on Cedars Avenue in Mitcham will provide 169 new properties; 72 homes will be built for private sale, with a further 64 for shared ownership and 33 for affordable rent. Over four acres of the site will be retained as a new park at the heart of the development.
All properties will benefit from park views and energy efficient design, built to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. Brenley Park LLP is aiming for construction by Willmott Dixon to start in March 2011 with completion in 2013.
Brian Brady, managing director for Willmott Dixon Homes says: “We are delighted to be working again with Notting Hill Housing Group and the Homes and Communities Agency following our successful partnership on the Harmony development at Isleworth. The properties will create much needed homes for all types of people, irrespective of background or income. With great new open space, quality design and construction, plus superb transport links into the centre of London, we expect demand for the homes to be high”.
