QMUL School of Business Management
Creating a new home for the School of Business Management at QMUL's Mile End Campus
The redevelopment of space within the Mile End Campus of Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) marks a significant investment in the future of higher education in East London. The project will provide a new, dedicated home for the School of Business and Management (SBM), ensuring continuity in the world-class education QMUL offers to students from the UK and across the globe.
Situated in the heart of London’s East End, this state-of-the-art facility will deliver substantial benefits to students, faculty, and the local community. Designed to replace outdated infrastructure, the new building will accommodate students and academic staff, offering high-quality, flexible learning and teaching spaces. With landscaped terraces and green spaces, the facility will create a vibrant and welcoming environment that enhances both the campus and the surrounding public areas.
The six-storey building will serve as a focal point of QMUL’s redevelopment plans, contributing to the wider enhancement of Mile End Road and the improvement of public spaces. This transformation aligns with the university’s commitment to investing in its students, faculty, and the local community.
For over 20 years, the School of Business and Management has been deeply engaged with the local community, working alongside businesses, charities, and entrepreneurs to create opportunities for residents and professionals. This ethos aligns closely with Willmott Dixon’s values, and throughout the construction phase, the project will actively support community engagement initiatives and social value activities.
Richard Poulter, Managing Director of Willmott Dixon’s Construction South office, said:
“This will be our second project with QMUL, and we are delighted to be continuing our partnership with such a fantastic institution. Our extensive experience in higher and further education projects means we are ideally positioned to support QMUL in delivering state-of-the-art learning and teaching facilities that not only benefit students but also enhance the wider community.”
The redevelopment of the Mile End Campus stands as a testament to QMUL’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and academic excellence.
