Capital works programmes for Birmingham City Council
- Undertaking planned project works for Birmingham City Council
- Framework administered by Activico
- Framework open to housing associations and local authorities in West Midlands
Our client has 60,000 homes in Birmingham - Europe’s largest landlord.
These homes are made up of traditional housing, high rise blocks and low rise blocks and we deliver capital works to around 6,500 properties per year under the framework. The work ranges from 'Secure By Design' front doors to £5m plus high rise refurbishment schemes.
Projects are issued on an annual basis via Acivico once Birmingham City Council has secured both budget and address lines to support a programme of works.
We employ local sub-contractors and manufacturers as much as possible to keep the spend local to the communities we work in.
Working in the community
We offer apprenticeships for tradespeople and also office-based. Our opening doors work experience programme gives practical opportunities to dozens of people each year, with everyone guaranteed an interview for an apprenticeship.
Other local activities we get involved with include supporting the local BMX Track and working with our other Birmingham branches for charities such as Acorns, Sifa Fire Side and St Basils.
We are signed up to the Birmingham Charter for Corporate and Social Responsibility and have been working in this community for 4 years.
General Manager Daniel Camp joined us as a project manager in 2011 from a role as Assistant Technical Services Manager at Birmingham City Council; he now leads a team that has grown from 3 staff to 36 in just 3 years.
Our operational area
Current work streams are limited to the B post codes of the Birmingham area.
