Junior Estimator

We are currently looking to recruit a Junior Estimator to join our Central South region based in Farnborough, focusing on projects based in Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Oxfordshire.

As a Junior Estimator your career is all about using the design drawings and specifications provided by the customer to provide a total cost of the project. Estimators basically do all the sums to work out how much the building will cost before building work can start. They will negotiate with designers and supply chain partners to get the best value. Estimating is a good career for someone who likes working with numbers. Estimators have to be good at negotiating too, to make sure they get the best prices for materials, plant and labour.

This is a new position in our team to fulfil the estimating duties on projects in tender and negotiation. Our tender pipeline is healthy and with our projects in negotiation now being predominantly estimator led, additional resource is required. This is also a great opportunity to be mentored by an experienced senior estimating team and learn further skills on the job. It could well suit someone with quantity surveying experience who wants to utilise their experience in an estimating capacity.

A Junior Estimator would be utilised to:
• lead first stage tenders in relation to commercials and pricing element
• support senior estimators/ surveyors at pinch points in second stage of tenders
• support single stage tenders as required

Our commitment to customer service, quality and our culture are what make us different - take a look at our website to see if it will be the right place for you to have a career of a lifetime.
